What’s Good: Few actor’s performance.

What’s Bad: The screenplay and the direction.

Story:

Stupid Mann starts at Phuket where Abhi (Jeewan Luitel) falls in love at first sight with Ashma (Chadani Sharma). After that he meets her often and they had some misunderstanding between them. Jems (Niraj Baral) works for Khan Bhai (Martin Khan). Although Khan Bhai’s work is not disclosed clearly but it seems like he is carrying some illegal activities and Jems is his right hand. Jems is in relationship with Jasmine (Riju Shrestha). Ashma is also a medical student and works on same field. Ashma and Jems are childhood friends. After few incidents, Ashma and Abhi falls in love with each other whereas Jems dump Jasmine and force Ashma to marry him. Jems beats Abhi severely and threatens Ashma’s family to get married with him. Ashma is sandwiched between Abhi and Jems’ love. What will happen next? Who will get Ashma? A bad guy or a good guy? Watch the movie to know what happens next.

Stupid Mann Review:

How can a movie be a good when its script and screenplay is written so carelessly? Good actors, foreign location is just a waste when a director can’t work hard on the script and screenplay. This is what happened with Stupid Mann. Nepali audience are really not interested to watch Nepali movie just because it is shot at foreign location. Stupid Mann’s main problem is its script and screenplay. The story of the movie don’t have any relation with Thailand so its a big problem. The investment for foreign location could have been used for screenplay which could make the movie better within Nepal’s location.

Movie’s story is not a problem as it had a good scope to make a good movie. But screenplay and script is written so carelessly that every good aspects of the movie gets faded. Actor’s performance, foreign location, good music will not woo audience. Movie’s first half goes well but all sudden Jems gets changed without any incident that could justify. A bad guy for parents becomes good, leaves his bad works for a girl who was just a normal girl for him. He becomes crazy lover all sudden which makes hard to accept further part of the movie. We can easily feel the carelessness on the screenplay. There are more such scenes in the movie which are unjustifiable.

Jeewan Luitel has done good job. Nothing new and freshness on his character but doesn’t disappoint too. Chadani Sharma looks great and she has done good job. Her character Ashma steals the show. Riju Shrestha’s performance is another appreciable aspect of the movie. Martin Khan as Khan Bhai is superb. Although his character is not well written but he has well portrayed a bad guy.


Niraj Baral who is also a producer of the movie looks good on love scene rather than action sequence. The first song of the movie where he romance with Jasmine is one of the best part of the movie. He should focus on lover boy role which suits him more than action scene.

Last Word:

Stupid Mann disappoints badly. Stupid Mann is easily an avoidable film.
