Rekha Thapa’s first directorial venture Himmatwali is released across the theater of Nepal. Himmatwali is produced and directed by Rekha Thapa. Himmatwali is the story of Rekha which is further written by Shivam Adhikari. Movie features Sudarshan Gautam in lead role as a male actor.

Story:

Himmatwali is a story of Satya Gautam (Sudarshan Gautam) who works for Wikileaks. He is an armless guy. He kills an American guy and runs away from United States to Nepal. Nepal police is searching Satya. Rekha is a girl from a village who is brave and adventurous. One night she accidentally enters inside a forest where she meets Satya and his gang. Satya is staying at that forest with hundreds of his followers who are protecting him with guns and arms. Satya is working on a mission which is important for Nepal and the world. Satya keeps Rekha in his group for investigation. During investigation period, he falls in love with Rekha. Satya propose Rekha to marry him. Rekha keeps a condition in front of Satya that if he asks her hand with her brother than she would marry him. To fulfill her wish, Satya comes out of the forest and goes to the village of Rekha where he get caught by the police. What will happen next? Will Rekha save him from police? Will Satya’s mission be accomplished? You have to watch the movie to know all these.

Himmatwali Review:

Himmatwali is Rekha Thapa’s first movie as a director. We can find nothing new and creativity aspects in the movie. Every scenes from the movie is copied from many Nepali and Bollywood movies. There is nothing new to offer by Rekha Thapa as a director. A completly masala movie where there is action, music, comedy, emotion and social message that are borrowed from many Nepali movies. Rekha has borrowed better scenes from her past movies and included in Himmatwali.

Himmatwali has proved that Rekha is the star of Nepali film industry. She has focused Himmatwali to please her audience of single screens which she succeed completely. Himmatwali is made in that format which will be loved by audience of single screens. She has included every thing that her audience wants to watch from Nepali movie. Himmatwali is not for city area audience and will be rejected easily. Movie is made for single screen audience and for audience outside valley where movie will do good business. Movie has everything that those audience wants to watch from a Nepali movie. And this fact should not be forget that those audience are the power of Rekha Thapa and they have made her star. So those audience will help Rekha to recover her investment. Although I didn’t like the movie but I appreciate the smart attempt of Rekha Thapa for making movie for those audience who made her star.

 Rekha Thapa has done good job as usual. She has been doing such role since a decade and she still rocks. Sudarshan Gautam has done his best from his side. He is good in his role.

Last Word:

Himmatwali is a good for Rekha Thapa’s fans and bad one for rest. If you are fan of Rekha Thapa’s movie than go for it else stay away.
