Nepali film journalist Laxman Subedi’s first directorial venture Euta Saathi was released across the theaters of Nepal from last Friday. Movie is produced by Ramchandra Khanal. Movie features Salon Basnet, Rishta Basnet, Anu Shah, John Tamang in lead role. Euta Sathi is written by Sushil Pageni.

Rating: 1.5/5 (One And Half Stars)

What’s Good: Shovit Basnet’s comic appearance that will add some genuine funny moments in the movie.

What’s Bad: The screenplay, the direction and especially the editing. Salon Basnet’s performance is not utilized properly.

Story:

Euta Saathi is the story of a John who falls in love with his actress Nisha. After they are in relationship, movie moves towards the college life of Shofia. Shofia is also in love with John. Nisha is in hospital waiting her death and she forced John to have Shofia in his life. Shofia finds out that John is cheating him as he has Nisha also in his life. Than Shofia accidentally meets Sahin who is the dance teacher of her group. Sahin and Shofia goes to one rural part of Nepal to practice dance with their group. Shofia and Sahin falls in love during their training. Whereas John is also searching Shofia to tell the truth and bring her back as Nisha is dead. Will Shofia go with John or Sahin? What will happen next? Watch Euta Saathi movie to know about the further story.

Euta Saathi Movie Review:

Movie’s weak point is its editing as well as screenplay and script. There is nothing new and fresh in the screenplay. Every scene are inspired from many movies that you have watched several times. Dialogues are not well written. Movie could have been somehow good if it was edited properly. I won’t call it a bad movie but more disappointing movie by Laxman Subedi. Background score, action don’t have anything new that adds value to the movie.

Salon Basnet who did very good work in his last movie Hostel is not utilized properly in Euta Saathi. Director’s creativity is really missing in the movie. Anu Shah has done good job. Rista Basnet is also good. John Tamang being one of the lead character, his performance is not so strong. He needs to improvise on his performance.
Shovit Basnet is seen in a comic appearance and he is one of the highlight of the movie. On second half he will make you laugh and entertains you. His part is fresh and his dialogues are good. Other comic parts of the movie are old jokes used in a new way which don’t work. Narayan Puri in a small role is good. Khali Khali Thiyo Mann song is good.

The film never attempts to raise the bar for itself, be it in its love story that requires the needed chemistry or in rest of things it is attempting to say. Film’s starting sequence will give you a clear concept about how the movie is made. Creativity and novelty is missing in the movie.

Last Word:

Euta Saathi is a disappointing movie. Movie making is a creative thing which is missed by the director and his team. There is no thrill nor anything that will excite to watch the movie. Euta Sathi is an easily avoidable one.
