Rating: 2/5 Stars ( Two Stars)
What’s Good: Subash Thapa’s performance, music, few comic scenes, Binita Khadka’s performance as Juneli and her chemistry with Birkhe.
What’s Bad: Screenplay which miserably fails, movie is just a showcase of problems of a city area, unrealistic climax.
Story:
Birkhe
Lai Chinchhas is the story of a Birkhe. Movie all stands upon a
character Birkhe. Movie starts with Rifle Ba (father of Birkhe) who is a
reputed person of his village whereas his son Birkhe is good from heart
but innocent in nature. He don’t have any dreams nor any aim. He is
happy with his simple life. Rifle Ba is killed by an unknown gang for
their political aim which turns the life of Birkhe. Birkhe gets pressure
to leave his village and enter city to earn money and name. Leaving his
mother and lover Juneli, he reach to Kathmandu where he gets cheated by
one of his villager. Than he starts running behind political rally to
earn money for livelihood. Merina is working on an international
organization which is interested on Nepal’s political situation. That
organization sends Merina to Nepal to do research where she meets Birkhe
on every step of her life. She finds Birkhe facing lots of problems due
to political situation of Nepal and she tries to help him to get out of
his problem. Movie all revolves around the problem faced by Birkhe in
city area and how he overcome them to become a famous man of Nepal.
Birkhe Lai Chinchhas Review:
Movie
starts in a good way. Movie entertains you for the first half but when
Rifle Ba gets killed by an unknown gang, movie loose its track. An
unknown gang kills Rifle Ba to give pressure to big political party
sounds unrealistic as Rifle Ba is from a small village and his death
really doesn’t matters anyone at top level. From this point, movie
starts showing problems of Nepal connecting Birkhe which will make you
feel unrealistic. Although problems are genuine of Nepal but connecting
with the characters are in unrealistic way. They are just shown
connecting to a character. After that movie tries to present many issues
of Nepal which gives common man lots of problem. In fact movie is a
showcase of problems of city area. Merina character is confusing and
without any appropriate connection with the story of the movie. Why she
is in Nepal? She is shown just taking photos of poor people of street
which sounds unrealistic for an international organization whose aim is
to solve the political situation of Nepal. Climax of the movie also
disappoints. After showing lots of problems of city area, writer created
a simple illogical scene where Birkhe can be made a hero. It can be
easily known that movie wants to show all the problems of city area of
Nepal that is faced by a common man by connecting a character Birkhe and
at climax he has made hero.
Movie's strong point
is actor and producer Subash Thapa. He steals the show. He has done
brilliant job in the movie. His character Birkhe steals the heart. His
comic scenes will make you smile at some place. But only an actor can’t
hold the whole movie. Especially when its screenplay is so weak. Birkhe
Lai Chinchhas is like jack of all but master of none. Aaraj Keshav has
included few scenes in the movie which are appreciable. Jagadiswor
Thapa’s screenplay is poor. Movie has tried to include maximum problems
of city area but that doesn’t give any sense. Who will be interested to
spend money to see various problems of city area when the climax is
illogical. Birkhe is just a showcase of some of the problems that is
seen in city area.
Last word:
If you are interested to watch some of the problems of city area than watch the movie else save your time and money.
