10 Crore Compensation Agreement By Highlights Nepal To Stop Piracy Against Loot

Chhaka Panja's success has not only created a hope among Nepali film makers for surviving by making movies but also showed the risk factor of movie piracy which can happen anytime with anyone if makers are not alert upon small things.

Chhaka Panja piracy has created a big buzz on media and social networking sites. Not only monetary loss but also mental and emotional aspect of the makers has been affected. Film got pirated mistakenly which created a danger scenario which lead a youth's death. After this, producers has became alert upon piracy.

After Chhaka Panja, everyone's eye is upon Loot 2 which is releasing on 13th Falgun. Digital and diaspora distributor Highlights Nepal has invested huge amount on the film and they are also worried if by mistake anything happens to this film again. So to be in safe side and fight against piracy, Highlights Nepal has presented a strategy. Highlights Nepal will sell the distribution of the film to those with a clear agreement stating if the film's copy of the country gets pirated knowingly or unknowingly, the distribution company have to pay NR.10 crore compensation. This attempt can be a good one for threatening those groups who are involved in piracy.

Before Chhaka Panja, Dreams film got affected due to piracy. Late Shree Krishna Shrestha's film Kohinoor also got affected whereas Deepak Deepa's film Chha Ekan Chha was also affected due to piracy.
